A modular wooden bookshelf with lower cabinets provides convenient storage and display space in this home office. A small area rug defines the desk area, while recessed lighting illuminates the neutral-toned space.
For this modular home, designed by Karoleena Homes, two modules are combined for a contemporary, open concept house. It displays the genuine ability of their designs to fit well into their natural surroundings.
Karoleena Homes partners with Seattle Balance Associates to create the Kensington modular design. One of their goals is to show that prefab homes can be completely stunning and contemporary. The layout has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, while the exterior features fiberglass and glass walls.
Dark walls and floors contrast with a white platform bed in this eclectic bedroom. The modular bed incorporates a small end table with just enough room for a classic desk lamp. A ruched bedspread and bohemian rug soften the look.
Creative design solutions help to make the most of your space – whatever the size. In this room design from HGTV Design Star, a white modular bookshelf functions as a room divider with built-in storage in a small living room. The small acrylic coffee table doesn't weigh down the space, while a gray shag rug softens the parquet floors and adds subtle color.
Interior designer Abbe Fenimore plays with a turquoise, neon yellow and gray color palette in this cheerful living room. A soft blue modular sofa shines with electric neon pillows atop it. A slate-gray wall is the perfect backdrop to this living area's bright shades.
Instead of building the home on the lot, modular components are built in the Karoleena Homes' state-of-the-art facilities so that they can be assembled together quickly on site. It cuts the construction time down from months to days. This two module beauty was first constructed at the Calgary Home and Garden Show and then finally found a home near Bergen, Alberta.
"When you're working on a strict budget, cash doesn't usually extend to custom-made built-in cabinetry," says designer Anna Williams. "Instead, I've used a set of affordable and modern white bookshelves to create plenty of storage, without the expense." A bright abstract is a colorful focal point, while wicker baskets provide some hidden storage options.
