Together with the dining room, the kitchen comprises an expansive space. The marble island helps divide the space while providing room for the sink and additional storage. The backsplash continues the feel of water in the space which is accented by a few well-placed pieces of art, including the designer's initials: MB.
Clean lines and dark wood define this bright modern kitchen. Oversized windows and soft gray walls let light shine throughout the open floor space. Waterfall counter tops create an interesting visual element.
KITCHEN, AFTER: The kitchen was enlarged by taking down the wall between the pantry and dining room. It's now a bright space with white cabinets, plenty of storage, a large island for cooking and entertaining, and new stainless steel appliances. There is a great mix of modern and industrial throughout the space.
This small galley kitchen gets a modern industrial look from stainless steel appliances, a blackened steel bar counter and sleek red cabinets. Roughly-hewn Siberian oak flooring recalls the industrial origins of the building.
