This vintage 2-unit building was transformed into a contemporary single-family home. Instead of walls, walnut and light oak cabinetry of varying heights delineates the kitchen and dining area, the den and living area.
Pendant lights with teardrop glass covers hang above a large kitchen island with white countertop and black base. White bar chairs line one side for a simple eat in area. White cabinets accentuate the spacious design of the room and stainless steel appliances keep with the clean, sleek look.
The kitchen and adjacent dining area's design was drawn from nature and the home's midcentury modern architecture. Ikea cabinet boxes with mahogany and color block fronts made by Semihandmade were budget-friendly without sacrificing style. Bespoke ceramic light pendants are by Heather Rosenman.
A streamlined midcentury-modern dining table sits in front of a transitional eat-in kitchen. The kitchen features a wood-grain wall of cabinetry, complete with fridge-concealing panels, that both complements and contrasts the blue island and cabinets.
