A tufted neutral bench at the foot of the bed matches the tufted headboard. Built in yellow lighting borders the textured accent wall creating a nice depth in the sleek, white room. Coral lamp stands, metallic wall mounts and a sea themed throw pillow create a modern tropical decor. A blue glass sliding door maximizes space.
The dining area of the loft was decorated with a hand-loomed silk and Tibetan wool carpet, original oil artwork, upholstered bench seating paired with custom side chairs, a metallic and capiz shell chandelier, a carved floor lamp, a tall Chinese dragon vase and custom draperies that frame the spectacular view of the river below.
A checked pattern over the buffet piece features alternating textures beneath ornamental metallic knobs. A pair of table lamps match the brass of the knobs, and the shape of the base blends the mediterranean influence of the display with the more contemporary surroundings. Framed art fills the wall space while a bubble contemporary light fixture finishes out the design with a modern flair.
Bedding in the home’s signature black and white color palette juxtaposes stripes and polka-dots for a very modern mix of patterns. Pops of orange throughout the room liven up the space while giving it a warm yet youthful feel. Even more color finds it way in through the metallic side table and lamp, while leopard-patterned pillows on both beds tie the colors and patterns together.
A cool mix of decor keeps this bedroom design simple but stylish. One nightstand features a textured-effect on the black drawers with gold diamond accents between. Gold handles on the other nightstand continue that metallic accent white the table adds a bright pop of color to the room, matched by the throw pillow on the bed. A circular mirror, thin table lamp and singular portrait finish the space.
A white, brown and gray modern farmhouse style sitting room and kitchen. A white couch, concrete table, gray and metallic arm chairs, white and gray rug, a pair of marble and wooden tables and white lamp fill the sitting room. Shiplap adorned with herringbone mirrors decorate the wall next to a wooden table with chairs. A marble island centers the kitchen with a trio of glass pendant lights.
Away from the office the home continues to expand, stretching into this beautiful dining room. Here, as in the living room, the couple's modern tastes complement the industrial bones of the space for an enticing combination. Black continues to be a strong accent color here, included through a pair of sculptural table lamps and one very statuesque planter. The glass top table and patterned, silver-metallic pendants solidify the modern aesthetic alongside art on both walls.
Evenly spaced recessed can lights truly enhance the gold and metallic hues of this luxurious master bedroom. For additional lighting, four table lamps deliver focused task lighting around the bed and dressers. Plus, dark floor-to-ceiling draperies make it easy to shield the natural light from the window and quickly set the mood. "Think boutique hotel rooms with blackout curtains; augment with a myriad of light sources on dimmers, of course. It'll always feel like you're on vacation at home," says Jamie Laubhan-Oliver of D Home.
Hezekiyah and Nyahsa wanted a mature space to entertain friends, so Drew and Jonathan from HGTV's hit show Buying and Selling designed a contemporary space for the couple. By lightening up the wall shade, they were able to brighten the space, making it seem larger. Then, they brought in new, modern furniture that provides plenty of seating for a small gathering. The modern end table and lamp help to brighten up the space as the metallic water bar at the end of the space reflects light back into the rest of the room. Pillows and artwork adorn the space to add splashes of color.
In Chris' bedroom, a mix of high and low created his designer bed ensemble. A custom bed upholstered in automotive vinyl was the area's biggest purchase; however, deceptively budget-friendly purchases were made for the remainder of the space. The demilune-shaped chests came from ZGallerie for $600 each, and not only do they add an elegant touch, they offer concealed storage. Table lamps atop the chests were found at a flea market and updated with red paint and new metallic drum shades. While Ralph Lauren bedding in a classic paisley print was a splurge, custom pillows made from $6.99 per yard IKEA tartan fabric kept the budget in check. To allow Chris to easily change up the looks of his bedding, the backs of each pillow were covered in a nautical print from Duralee.
