“We filled it with things that made our eyes happy,” says Sonal. That meant navy blue on the walls and the ceiling (Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore) and a glass-bead chandelier from Currey & Company. The various styles of furniture, all neutrals, blend in a cool, relaxed way, including a bed with crisscrossed metal accents and a white upholstered chair (both from RH) plus a whitewashed wood nightstand by Noir.
Olaniyi’s bedroom is unquestionably the sanctuary of this home. An elegant expression of her style, a color palette of black and white with pops of teal form the room’s design. The stenciled headboard makes an impact as both art and a functional piece in this warm and welcoming bedroom.
Luke and Miranda got a king bed for the first time — their old place didn’t have the space — and it’s appreciated by everyone. When Luke designed the room, he was going for something unexpected. “I thought the ‘Love Always’ sign, which I had made as a headboard, was romantic,” says Luke. (Yes, it has a dimmer.) The rug, nightstand and dresser are vintage finds.
“I used to close the door to this room before people came over — that’s how not cute I thought it was,” says Cristina. Designers Lathem and Cate channeled the couple’s eclectic style with a caned headboard from CB2, buffalo check bedding from Ballard Designs and teal lamps by Circa Lighting plus a matching bench from HomeGoods.
