“Keep your details simple and clean and use the trendy stuff in accessories that are easier to change out,” says Christina Fluegge, owner of Greige Design. “I like to combine neutral materials so that spaces have contrast and texture without too much going on, so there’s room for variety.” In this bathroom, Fluegge used beadboard on the walls in colors that contrast slightly with the white marble countertops and sinks below. Underfoot, she chose a porcelain tile that mimics vein-cut limestone, but has more texture so that it doesn’t get slippery when wet.
Creamy white marble is used to create a sleek and spacious double vanity just opposite of a spa-like glass shower in this bright, master bath. A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows gift the modern space with copious sunlight while a door at the far end leads outside onto a private master patio.

In small bathrooms, simplicity can be elegant. Atlanta designer Julie Montgomery used contemporary sconces and a curved vanity with marble top for her clients. “I love white walls, but if I wanted to make a dramatic yet affordable change, I'd paint the walls, trim and ceiling the same color,” she said.
The floating white marble vanity includes two sinks and attached drawers underneath for built in storage space. Black hexagon tiles create a sharp contrast to the white surroundings. Wicker baskets add a nice texture and provide extra organized storage.
