The detailing on the stairs down to the lower level media room reflects the style of this home. Right off the stairs sits a built-in cabinet that holds a home theater system with a large 65-inch curved smart TV that can be enjoyed from different angles.
Rustic wood siding and log beams pair with clean, sleek lines and oversized windows to create a cabin with contemporary style. The home features a stepping stone walkway that leads through mulched landscaping to a lower-level patio.
The location of the patio was determined so that the space has a great view of the lake from the pool as well as anywhere else on the patio. The pool itself is set about 18" above the home's lawn and travertine patio so as to allow seating along the coping, as well as add dimension to the space. To visually connect this space to the home, designers used the same Indiana limestone for the pool's coping as was used around the lower level of the home. Then, a travertine that complemented the stone was chosen for the floor of the patio.
In the renovation of this former barn, the structure's original openness was kept. Bedrooms were added modular-style to the upper level. A chic black-and-white fireplace sits in the very center of the space.
The soaring fireplace accentuates the room's height, too, by drawing the eye up from the floor to the ceiling. Low-level furniture makes the space feel just as open and also allows for unobstructed views of the water.
Stepping into the living room reveals a clean-lined sectional offset by a round coffee table. A single chair brings up the far corner of the space, with a warm yellow fabric that perfectly complements the colors of the area rug. Recessed lights and a black floor lamp brighten the space for late-night reading and entertaining.
To the side of this modern, Southwestern style home, rests a long, slender contemplation pool. This pool is lined by drought resistant plants, and stylishly separates the upper level from the lower patio.
A spiral staircase winds down from the yard to this hidden outdoor living room space. Stone walls enclose the space while an open ceiling allows sunshine down into the area. Circular shaped furniture creates a beautiful and interesting aesthetic. The sofa features a red weaved bottom, mating the four coffee tables, and a purple cushion adding bright color to the design. Large planters bring plant life into the space to connect it to the yard above.
White walls keep this living room design feeling open and bright. A cozy white sofa is decorated with a colorful throw and trio of pillows. A rich turquoise rug adds additional vivid color tot he room. A wood stump stool features a gold painted finish adding a metallic accent and complimenting the gold sheen of the coffee table.
All along the upper and lower levels, glass doors pull back to make the transition between indoors and out seamless. On the lower level, a large patio extends out beyond the house for ultimate outdoor entertaining.
