The space in this living room was opened up by removing the wall between the living room and the kitchen. Updates include a retiled fireplace, freshly painted walls, new patterned curtains and contemporary furniture.
“With my room, I intend to take viewers on a fantastical voyage through the cutting edge of today’s art and design universe,” explains designer Jeff Lincoln of Jeff Lincoln Interiors. The rug—a new design by Paul Robinson for the rug Company called Lagoon—sets the foundation for the whole space. The walls received a custom Venetian plaster finish, a neutral choice meant to make the rest of the room’s contemporary furnishings shine.
Robert Passal in collaboration with Daniel Kahan introduces “Sala de Reflexion,” a space inspired by the refined salons of Paris in the 20th century. Washed pastels and natural hues gives the space a calming ambiance, while materials—plaster, wood, marble and bronze—layered with textiles pull it all together.
Before, this small living space lacked color and charm. The addition of all-new furniture injects character and functionality, while a textured wall covering adds new life to the living room's walls, ceiling and fireplace. To hide TV cords, an alcove is made from lumber and planks of paint-grade pine. Keeping the wires concealed inside the alcove allows for a seamless and sophisticated look.
