Going for maximum airiness, Luke and Clint gave this space a 20-foot-high ceiling and two-story windows. It’s cozied up by a gas fireplace clad in smooth cedarwood, with soapstone on the hearth. Aggregate concrete floors with embedded river rocks stand up to occasional basketball dribbling. The 1960s leather sofa and the rockers are from Boise Vintage—Luke had the chairs reupholstered in buffalo check fabric from JoAnn.
The space in this living room was opened up by removing the wall between the living room and the kitchen. Updates include a retiled fireplace, freshly painted walls, new patterned curtains and contemporary furniture.
Contestants Martha and Alex carried the feature wood wall into the living room at the renovated Comfort Breeze condo. They also installed new wood beams in the ceiling to separate the living room from the dining area.
As seen on HGV's Love It or List It, the renovated living room has had the wall removed that used to cut it off from the rest of the house. Now, the living room flows comfortably into the rest of the house.

A smooth transition between the living room and kitchen is achieved with this simple bar with metallic bar stool. Avram Rusu designed this part of the room to quietly blend with the decor of the living room and serve a functional dining and living space.
