Since this home is located in Los Angeles, it only makes sense to have French doors that can be opened to fresh air and sunlight at a moment's notice. In the library, two brown leather armchairs and a cream-colored seat soak up the views, with an oversized red area rug pulling in some additional warmth.
Designer Geoffrey De Sousa envisioned the Library at the San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2014 being used by an iPad-centric homeowner, whose reading materials are stored in the cloud. The white painted books, which were hand painted by Geoffrey and his team, giving this library a unique look.
Traditional library colors and materials -- such as the wood built-in shelves and the brown leather sofa -- are placed in this space that is anything but traditional. A funky, southwest-inspired rug brings red, blue and green hues into the room, and a beautiful painting echoes those colors. Accents placed on the shelves add a personal touch to the library, which also features simple but intriguing small tables plus an additional chair for reading or lounging.
