Glass panels on the staircases blend in seamlessly, becoming nearly invisible, and look less bulky than traditional railing. White walls and a white ceiling, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows, keep the room feeling airy and bright despite the bookshelf wall's hulking presence.
Elements of this entrance mimic features inside the library for a cohesive look. Sconces framing the doorway resemble the dramatic pendant light over the fireplace. The doorframe's stain color matches the tray ceiling stain in the library.
Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves line the back wall of this library, a cozy retreat for bookworms or anyone in need of a little quiet work or reading time. The front of the room has a built-in desk looking out big windows.
For the library, designers created wood, open-backed bookshelves that had the attractive benefit of showing off the exposed brick wall. A leather sofa and ottoman add a hint of Western flair into the eclectic look.
