Laundry room of the HGTV Dream Home 2014, a vacation getaway located in Truckee, Calif., minutes away from Lake Tahoe. The purple and white striped walls of this laundry room create a calming feeling, while the laundry sink is a great addition making this space more functional.
The center of the laundry room includes an under-mount stainless steel sink used for rinsing clothes before tossing them into the wash. While under-mount sinks add a clean, seamless look to countertops, they also require a great deal of skill to install. In order for an under-mount sink to be properly installed, it’s positioned into place from below, then secured to the bottom of the countertop with silicone.
For this laundry room, Mark Warren of Warren Home Restorations Inc. wanted to combine efficient storage and ample light with pleasing design that would blend with the rest of the home. An apron-front sink makes a pretty stand-in for a utility sink. To the right, specially sized niches hold laundry baskets that make sorting and toting a snap.
This laundry features white subway tile, grouted in black, which matches the window trim as well as the sink cabinet. Rustic wood shelves sit above a white farmhouse sink and between two hanging lantern lights.
Sometimes laundry rooms don't even look like laundry rooms at all. This serene space embraces a soft color palette and feminine cottage-style decor. The environment would make laundry feel less like a chore and more like a tranquil getaway.
Industrial meets chic in this functional, yet stylish laundry room. A stacked washer and dryer make maximum use of space, allowing for a sink, hanging rod, cabinetry and countertop space for folding. The gray and white palette is neutral, but pattern and texture bring plenty of visual interest.
Style and function seamlessly combine in this laundry room. Polished granite countertops provide a beautifully durable work surface, and a stainless steel, single-bowl sink is just as functional for hand-washing laundry as it is for freshening up.
Tucked away in the laundry room, designers made space for stacking laundry appliances, the family's refrigerator, plenty of cabinet storage and a laundry sink. These features make this space especially functional as well as keeps the rest of the home's design sleek, clean and free from unnecessary, bulky appliances.
This generously sized bathroom in the HGTV Dream Home 2006 is lined with a peg rail, with pegs made from branches of mountain laurel. The wood theme plays out again in the rough-wood framed mirror over the deep double sink. The sink, reminiscent of an old-fashioned laundry sink, offers plenty of room for multiple people to wash up at once.
