Doing laundry is ever so much more exciting when you get to come into the laundry room via a hidden entrance. Turn these pantry shelves around and step inside. The pantry itself features hand-scraped shelves and a mahogany butcher block countertop.
The entrance to this barn-style residence is in a small extension of the main building. It also houses some of the home's more utilitarian rooms like the laundry room and a mudroom. Barn doors slide over the glass ones for an extra wink of personality.
As seen on HGTV's Love It Or List It, Too, Designer Jillian Harris modernized this west coast home by removing a pillar that sat in the middle of the entrance. She painted the walls with Behr Cotton Knit and installed engineered hickory hardwood flooring with Tremblant stain. The kitchen entrance was removed and the pantry and office desk area were closed in to create the laundry room. The Ceasarstone kitchen countertops, London Grey and Stone Grey, were extended along the back wall. Jillian removed another pillar in the centre of the kitchen and modernized the existing island with clean straight lines. Jillian completes the kitchen with Antique Imperial Mist subway tile for the backsplash.
