The designers at Color Design Art prove that laundry rooms don't need to be cold and sterile. In this retro utility room, bright-red appliances, colorful artwork and contemporary black cabinetry bring a different feel to the laundry room.
A washer/dryer pedestal with built-in storage drawers ensures every inch of valuable space in the laundry room is used. In addition, wall-to-wall cabinetry guarantees there's a place for everything. Design by Shane Inman
Blue cabinetry, vivid pink walls and an ultra-bright floral wallpaper combine to create a laundry room that's actually fun to work in. This eclectic Park City, Utah, ski home is bursting with bright colors and whimsical accents that drive home the homeowners' fun-loving personalities.
A cozy corner is reserved for the family pet, with a pet bed, stainless steel feeding bowls and toys carving out the dedicated space. Black wood cabinetry offers ample storage and work space and compliments the mint green wall of the space. A doggie rack stores clothes and leashes efficiently while a metal storage bin keeps toys stowed in one neat place.
A stackable washer/dryer set saves space in this laundry room, freeing up the floors for baskets and hampers in transit. To ensure that the units wouldn't feel out of place, the designers outfitted them with wood that complements the cabinetry around the room.
This laundry room lives much larger than its square footage, thanks to smart planning by Geoff Chick & Associates. The base cabinets that flank the washer and dryer are just 18 inches deep, but extending the wall of cabinetry all the way to the 12-foot ceiling vastly increases the usable space. Windows visually expand the room; the natural light flooding in enhances the warm notes in the soft gray paint. "Most laundry rooms are tucked away in a dark corner or in the basement," Chick notes.
Utility is the name of the game in this neutral laundry room. A stainless steel utility sink, sewing machine nook and a murphy-style ironing board create separate stations around the room, while white cabinetry offers storage throughout.
This mudroom and laundry room combination space features hooks and a bench seat for hats, bags and shoes as well as plenty of crisp, white cabinetry for laundry supplies and extra linens and towels. The stacked washer and dryer takes up minimal space, leaving room for an adjacent countertop workspace.
Oftentimes, homeowners find they don't need a room solely devoted to laundry. This spacious bathroom dedicates a small nook to the washer and dryer, a folding station and some overhead storage cabinetry. Design by Nancy Leffler Mikulich
