Floor to ceiling neutral mosaic tile in the shower and bath combo framed by a damask shower curtain, hung on the ceiling, visually expand the space in this small bathroom. Bright recessed lighting and a chandelier, along with a large mirror are also designer tricks for decorating a small space. The high end features like marble flooring and countertops, make this bathroom feel like a luxury retreat.
Although designers from America's Most Desperate Kitchens wanted to create an authentic looking farmhouse kitchen, they also wanted to give the homeowners lots of modern luxuries, so they combined vintage inspired features, like the mint refrigerator and mixer and large print tile floor, with modern cabinets and countertops, creating a durable, elegant space.
A large neutral sectional sits against a neutral wall and rug in this contemporary living room. Red and zebra print throw pillows and a cow print stool add a pop of color and pattern to the room. A gray accent wall around the window matches the color palette of the tile flooring. A large square wooden coffee table sits in the middle.
To add color to the updated, yet still authentic feeling kitchen and dining room spaces, designers on America's Most Desperate Kitchens continued the mint green color from the kitchen into the dining room. The mint green of the refrigerator and the KitchenAid reflect flecks of mint green in the custom, large print tile floor. The same accent color enters the dining room with the vintage, mint green pendant light.
In the master bathroom, designers created an oasis with a unique bathtub as the centerpiece of the showcase. Above it, a contemporary chandelier adds light on cloudy days and at night, while geometric prints on the wall add color to the space. The large picture window lets in plenty of natural light that makes the area feel warm and bright. This light is mirrored in the neutral wall color and the gray and white tile floor that was laid in a herringbone pattern to create a bit more texture in the space.
