Dark stained concrete flooring used indoors continues out to the home's deck. A steel and glass railing encloses the space, and an outdoor sofa and pair of armchairs provide comfy seating to take in the lakefront views.
Many of the residential properties on this lake have a boat dock. The Houghtons bought two lots, making room for a boat dock AND a second "party deck" (this was their wish, in two words!). So HGID designed this as a floating lounge, literally - comfy upholstered seating areas with a huge TV, swimming dock (they're wake boarding fanatics) and wet bar complete with a kegerator (they're fanatical for beer). Everything is upholstered in Sunbrella, including the outdoor drapery, which all gets a heavy hose-down in advance of every visit. The couple and their guests can nap, lounge, party and relax there. We're told the lake is a jet ski drag strip on the weekends, so good spectator seating!
Stone steps lead from the upper level patios down to this open air spot, where adirondack chairs are gathered around a wood-burning fireplace. The husband of the house likes to retreat here with friends and a few cigars.
On the lake side of this newly renovated home, designers incorporated a patio into the home's entertainment space. The large back patio space includes a dining table with an umbrella, making the space usable even on sunny and drizzly days, as well as a lounge area with a view of the lake. Leading off from the patio, a landscaped walkway gives the homeowners safe passage to the lake below.
The home's sitting room was designed as a comfortable reading spot for the homeowners. Within this space, they are able to catch views of the waterfront, while the space's eastern exposure allows for warm morning sunshine all year long.
