Large stacker doors create indoor-outdoor flow from this kitchen to the deck. Ample seating allow guests to enjoy a meal inside or outside. No matter the choice, striking views of Lake Wakatipu can be seen from either spot.
As far as master bedrooms go, this one is a serious stunner. Vaulted ceilings and sleek glass windows open the space up, while an upholstered platform bed becomes the perfect spot to relax. Notice, too, how the tree branch-inspired light fixture and reclaimed wood accent wall bring the outdoors inside.
With floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides, this great room takes full advantage of its lakefront setting. Reclaimed wood beams pull some of that natural texture in, while a large gray sofa and four armchairs create a comfortable sitting area within sight of the water.
The family loves to look out their back door and see the lovely views of Lake Washington, so several gigantic windows were added to the back side of the house. Each level was then given a balcony so that the family could enjoy the views from different vantage points. The balconies each have glass railings so that nothing can get in the way of this family's love of the water.
On the lake side of this newly renovated home, designers incorporated a patio into the home's entertainment space. The large back patio space includes a dining table with an umbrella, making the space usable even on sunny and drizzly days, as well as a lounge area with a view of the lake. Leading off from the patio, a landscaped walkway gives the homeowners safe passage to the lake below.
Because all the best views are off the front of this Austin, Texas home, that's where the outdoor living spaces were set up. The upstairs deck looks out over the trees to a lake. Just inside the sliding glass door is the kitchen, an ideal arrangement for indoor/outdoor entertaining.
This exciting and majestic negative edge pool is truly an extension of the interior of this residence. The wide, see through, horizontal family room fireplace is enjoyed by all pool visitors. The pool and built in spa is surrounded by an expansive, self-draining, 2 foot by 2 foot, exposed aggregate patio. Fire pots frame each side of the pool and descending steps.
A huge deck gets prime lake views and the lake itself is just a short stroll away (through pretty trees, no less!). The outdoor space is smartly divided with a dining table on one side and a conversational grouping on the other. Stairs down from the deck are situated right in the middle.
Originally, this dining room was blocked off from views of the lake by a wall with only two tiny windows. Reworking of the home's design opened up the dining room to a screened porch on one side and a new, improved, more scenic sunroom on the other. Let there be light and lake!
This 30-acre Connecticut estate is designed to revolve around magnificent water views of Lake Lillinonah in Litchfield County, CT. The 14,000-square-foot main house underwent a complete renovation inside and out.
To connect the sunroom with the master bedroom suite—and keep lake views front and center—designers added a set of glass French doors. Panels on the bedroom side can be closed when more privacy is needed.
