This newly built, lovely Lake Minnetonka home was placed on the lot in order to take advantage of the beautiful view of the lake. To make better use of the home's lower level space, homeowners commissioned designers to create a new pool, a spa, walking paths, a patio for outdoor entertaining and retaining walls to help control the flow of rainwater away from their home and new outdoor space.

The homeowner wanted a landscape and outdoor entertainment space that would do justice to his exquisite Lake Minnetonka home and enhance opportunities for high level business meetings and entertaining family and friends.
This house wraps around a pretty backyard that looks out onto Lake Minnetonka. Up top, a deck is home to a deluxe outdoor kitchen and dining area. On the lower level, there's a sitting area and screened-in porch.
This home's waterfront setting on Minnesota's Lake Minnetonka is beautiful, but it needed shielding from intense afternoon sun. A covered patio met all needs. The roof has automated louvers and the gourmet island helps block the wind. On chilly nights, residents can grab a seat by the fireplace.
The homeowners were worried about the flow of rainwater on their property, so they wanted a retaining wall included in the design of their home's patio space that would divert water away from the home itself and down to Lake Minnetonka below. To accommodate this request, designers created a retaining wall from slabs of limestone that form a staircase leading from the upper patio area down to the lower pool and spa space. To add a little diversity to the design, limestone boulders were placed on the sides of the walkway, giving the feature a lovely aesthetic.
