The backside of a kitchen cabinet door is a space with great potential that’s too often wasted. A spice rack is an ideal way to put it to use — it frees up the inside of the cabinet and keeps all those tiny bottles neat and readable at eye level. Designer Jan Goldman of Kitchen Elements had this cabinet custom-made for her client, but there are lots of prefab wall-mounted options available designed specifically for spice storage.
Designer Jeff Troyer transformed this former kitchen into a casual dining area for the entire family and included a rectangular dining table paired with soft gray chairs in his design. The Parker family wanted a space that was open and connected for their family that is very tightly woven. To help them achieve their goals, Chip and his crew knocked down several walls to open up the space. They kept the kitchen open by installing an oversized kitchen island to hold appliances and to help with storage concerns. The crew then added lots of seating for the family and inserted a homework station for the kids.

A large steel console provides dining room storage while doubling as a bar. “Between the dining room and the kitchen there needed to be some kind of transition, so I accomplished that with a super heavy steel, air craft style console table that holds a lot of things that you don’t want to see,” says interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn.
This new master bathroom was located where the old second floor kitchen was previously. Double vanities, bright wall sconces, and large mirrors create plenty of space for the family. Storage was created under the vanities, and near the toilet opposite the shower. Textured gray ceramic tiles and clean white walls create a bright and modern atmosphere.
