Wood details pop against the stark white background of this kitchen design. Exposed beams above compliment the hardwood floor for a cohesive feel to the room. Wicker chairs with white backs and seats are lined at the large island for an eat-in space. Marble countertop adds a polished glow to the finish. A white brick wall brings subtle texture to the room as an understated accent wall.
As seen on Love It Or List It, Too, the kitchen and dining room have changed places. Now, the kitchen has plenty of space for storage and prep, while the dining table, which extends from the kitchen island in true Italian fashion, seats up to ten. The Caesar Stone countertops in the color Misty Carrera have been extended to the end of the dining area, and the cabinets are stained opaque, both grey and white, with Benjamin Moor Paint. The flooring throughout the kitchen and the first floor is stone brown red oak from Mercer, and the wall color is Milk Paint from Behr.
For a family home in Houston, the designers of Laura U Interior Design created a comfortable seating area just off the kitchen. The team used color and accessories to create a cohesive look throughout the wide open area. “While the majority of the color palette is neutral, we weave a lively turquoise through each space: pillows and an area rug in the family, bar stool frames in the kitchen, and a show-stopping chandelier in the breakfast space,” they explain. “The entire space is further unified through the window treatments which are a combination of Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades and custom drapery with a turquoise band on the leading edge. A cheerful yellow and just a dash of orange set off the color scheme while touches of gold and a natural wood (teak root table and driftwood at the island) add eclectic charm.”
Anthony and John, from Cousins on Call, have made a small area look incredibly large by creating a two in one functional area. The eat-in kitchen area seats four people comfortably at the island. The semi-formal dining area allows six people to enjoy their meal. The asymmetric high ceiling give the room a grand yet chic feel. Gray walls adorned with smart artwork enhances the beauty of the area. This room leads right into the living room as seen on HGTV's Cousins On Call.
