On the back porch, a pair of swinging daybeds topped with kilim pillows add a playful, laid-back feel to the space creating the perfect spot for relaxing. For additional seating, colorful butterfly-style chairs face the pool and make the space more functional.
For her shed, Sherrod went with a "desert sanctuary" theme. "I'm authentically drawn to the colors jade and coral, so I tied those in where possible," says Sherrod. "As an earthy, crunchy Scorpio, I am inspired by elements of nature, so you'll find cactus plants, live edge teak wood, white moonstones, selenite and quartz, a eucalyptus ladder, jute rug, kilim pillows and linen draperies."
Just past the subdued tones of the entryway, the living room explodes with wonderful pops of bold color and more delightful patterns. Colorful pillows on the sofa playfully reiterate the vibrant tones of the vintage kilim rug. Also, on the sofa, one of the room’s few touches of black, a mud cloth textile draped decoratively over the back brings an added dimension of pattern and hue to the space.
