Following French trends, this yellow and brown plaid curtain falls from an iron rod and twisted iron curtain rings against a neutral wall with textured paint finish. The twisted rod ends with a leaf finial extending past the curtain. Rod, rings, bracket and finials are by Iron Age Studios.
Bamboo rods with decorative wrought iron handles serve as drapery pulls, helping you to open and close this neutral window treatment. A hint of Mediterranean and tropical influence is apparent in the mix of materials.
In the master suite, designers created a warm focal point in the space with the fireplace. To create a bit of contrast, it was painted white with brown accent tiles to complement the tan walls. To help give the space a bit of privacy, curtains were hung on a wrought iron rods and half curtains attached to the large windows.
The great room in a lakeside living room has a nestled sofa and a fireplace large enough in which to stand. Carter Kay Interiors was tasked with giving the room a more human scale and creating a welcoming, cozy environment for small and large gatherings. The custom high-back Saladino sofa is scaled to relate to the fireplace opening and mantel. The designers had horizontal iron rods made for the draperies and had those same rods turn the corner, adding vertical straps to create an ever-changing art wall. The room also has a vintage iron and suede chair, a pair of iron lamps and lots of pillows for a cozy corner to watch the boats float by. The room is very carefully layered with rugs: sisal, Moroccan and hide, and textured chairs.
