This newly-married tech couple from the South Bay enlisted Interior Design Fair’s help to transform their San Francisco condo into a comfortable urban getaway. They combine his love of soothing, modern lines with her love of vibrant hues and playful textiles. Bold photography highlights a sleek, white desk area.
Bring the outside in and cover an interior accent wall and add warmth and texture to your space. The windows are large and strategically placed to capture the views out as well as getting light into the various spaces.
Inside the poolhouse, windows let in the home's incredible ocean views. One window is made in a creative, garage-door style that rolls up and out of the way, allowing drinks and food to be passed through to the outside.
A closer look at this luxe, contemporary pool house reveals sliding glass doors trimmed with black. Inside, guests will find a spacious living room, open kitchen, laundry room, wet bar and a full-sized bathroom.
Dorm room wardrobes offer a large, blank space that's dying to be dressed up. Here, we took advantage of this blank space just inside the door to create a chalkboard memo board with a side for each roommate's to-do list. A strip of turquoise wash tape creates a colorful divider between sides.
The open, walk-in style shower design leaves the bathing area looking and feeling extra spacious. Blue glass subway tile shines against the square, white bathtub base. A built in wall cubby provides easily accessible storage and keeps with the simplicity of the design.
Extra large blue tiles cover the interior walls of this spacious walk in shower. Glass closes off the remaining sides for an open look. A built in bench seat is accented with a white seat top. A mosaic tile accent strip brings texture to the wall and compliments the coloring of the floor tile.
A photography grid adorns one wall of the guest bedroom with a rural southern motif. “I like every house to have a mix of different mediums and that’s where photography comes in,” says interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn. “Anytime I am showcasing photography I like to stick with odd numbers so I picked up nine different prints and put them together in a grid pattern.”
Although the kitchen in this loft apartment is small, it still has the amenities of a larger kitchen. A full size refrigerator, dishwasher, oven and microwave allow for ease in cooking, while extra counter space was created with the addition of the kitchen island. On the other side of the island, a breakfast bar adds casual seating, extending the entertaining space of this loft apartment.
The curtains in this space provide a dual function to the room. First, they help control the natural light that streams into the room from the outdoors. Secondly, the dark color adds contrast to the soothing, gray wall color in the masculine space, and lastly, the curtains provide privacy for the loft owner in his bedroom.
In the dining area of this Atlanta Beltline loft apartment, a contemporary dining table and dining chairs provide seating for four. To define the space, a black and white woven rug rests underneath the table, while a contemporary light fixture adds continuity with the rest of the apartment.
A mixture of fresh colors, including yellow and various hues of blue, add pops of interest and give this living room an updated feel. The rug softens the space and coordinates with the blue pillows and tray. A console table along the back wall adds dimension and features fresh and modern accessories. A large oil painting highlights the fireplace and accents the high ceilings.
