A contemporary kitchen shines thanks to Cosmos granite countertops, custom cabinetry and an industrial-sized stainless steel vent hood. The combination of texture, variety of materials and color palette create a truly unique space.
Use recurring patterns and materials for a cohesive style throughout the kitchen. Designer Diane Foreman, of Neil Kelly Company used a mix of stainless steel and colored tiles for the backsplash of this 2016 National Kitchen + Bath Association Competition winning kitchen. The tile echoes the stainless steel in the sink and cooktop, and Foreman repeated a circular pattern throughout the room, a technique she says adds professional flair to the space.
The vent hood is a prime spot for a flash of farmhouse cool. This vent hood design was based on the short scraps and random pieces of wood saved by the builder. “Don’t throw away the short pieces of wood. You can reimagine and reuse them in some way,” says Austin Lineberry of New River Building Co. in metro Atlanta.
The Baker’s new kitchen has been completely transformed with new cabinetry, appliances, and wood flooring. A modern tile backsplash, a wood-framed vent hood, and granite countertops were installed, as seen on HGTV's Fixer Upper.
A custom tin hood vent serves as the wow-worthy focal point in this Italianate-inspired kitchen. The white-glazed cabinetry and stone backsplash provide a creamy hue to the gourmet surroundings. The metal and crystal chandelier illuminates the small dining area.
Walls were removed to open up this kitchen. An island with a gas range was added, as was a stainless steel and glass vent hood with lighting that changes colors. Shaker-style cabinetry is used throughout the space.
