To make this little boy's work space extra personal, designers had him work on paper crafts that they hung in the homework area above his desk. They also ordered coloring books, pencils, crayons and art supplies for the desk so that it was ready to use once the renovation was complete.
Each of the two homework nook's floating desks were configured with enough depth to accommodate books and games as well as laptop and desktop computers once the boys are old enough to use them for school. Instead of pairing the desks with themed children's chairs, midcentury-modern Bertoia chairs were added.

The Parkers wanted a relaxing place for their family to spend time, so Chip Wade and his team of designers from HGTV's hit show Elbow Room knocked down the walls that used to separate the Parkers' kitchen from their dining room. By doing that, he lost some storage space, so Chip added an over sized island to alleviate the storage issues. Then the team added a lush sofa, an armchair and an oversized ottoman so that all of the Parkers would fit comfortably in their new space.
