The homeowner had an empty room that she wanted to transition into a classical home library. The room is situated directly adjacent to her formal living room and was created using character grade walnut. Featuring built-in cabinetry and ottomans with green velvet cushions, the color of which were chosen to mimic the outdoors and enhance the wood tones in the space, the library space has plenty of seating, but the ottomans are not fixed, meaning that they can be relocated to provide additional seating to the formal living room if necessary.
This storage space achieves a romantically worn feel of a classic in-home library while keeping the room up-to-date with fresh white bookshelves. Classic lighting above each shelving unit adds both a functional and timeless touch.
