The owners of this high-rise apartment wanted a functional, modern kitchen, so designers revamped the original galley kitchen to give them what they needed. The galley design provides counter space on each side of the room, allowing for plenty of prep space, while new upper and lower cabinets add storage. Outdated appliances were replaced with new, stainless steel versions. To get the modern look homeowners had hoped for, designers made use of the natural light that comes into the space from the bay windows overlooking the city. Then, they installed two-toned cabinets, a three dimensional tile backsplash and a modern breakfast area to provide the elegant, modern design the homeowners longed for.

The tapered fireplace is plastered and painted white allowing the form to become the decor of the space. Custom plated steel treads and risers were installed on the underside of the stairs for support and painted with high gloss white paint for a truly spectacular finish.
Keep your range of height flowing so that the highest elevated items sit towards the back of the table and the smaller, squatty dishes sit towards the front. This will allow you to place any condiments or accoutrements below and in front of the elevated dishes so guests can garnish them once they're pulled off of cake stands or risers.
