A cohesive gray-and-white color palette brings this living room together. Designers Danielle Colding and Miera Melba dress up the homeowners' existing sofa with trendy new throw pillows while a sleek entertainment center provides much needed storage.
Former HGTV Design Star contestant Tym De Santo created this living room with a midcentury modern take. Tym's designs have grown since his appearance on the show's first season: "Surprisingly (to me) my 'minimalist' approach to design has grown to include a warmer modern feel," he says. "I am using more texture and color to highlight my interiors, and I love it!"
A glass table takes up less visual space than a wooden one while still providing ample room for cereal and homework. A vase of pink tulips provides a lively and welcoming contrast to the neutral decor chosen for the breakfast nook by Tiffany Brooks, Boris Eckey and Jeribai Tascoe for HGTV Star Season 8. Rustic wooden shelves make use of an empty corner and provide much-needed storage space.
