The linoleum floor was removed and replaced with new hardwood flooring using stained yellow pine meticulously color-matched to approximate the tone of the original heart pine found throughout the rest of the home.
The impressive kitchen was restored and given a wall of windows with french doors opening out to the terrace. All three levels of the home's heart pine floors were also refinished and add to its charm.

One of the projects in the refurbishing of this farmhouse in Garrison, New York was to rebuild the front porch, which had been removed. To honor the home's history, designers used a standing seam metal roof supported by chamfered posts. The decking is painted heart pine.
The home's formal dining room exudes warmth, and with access to the rear terrace courtesy of the french doors it is also perfect for indoor and outdoor entertaining. The room also showcases many of the home's historical features such as the heart pine wood floors, large fireplace and pocket doors.

The stair treads and landings were made from local reclaimed heart pine, and milled from 15" deep beams. Designer Heather Garrett custom mixed the stain so it would match original flooring.

The ceiling beams were reclaimed from a mill in Northern Alabama, close to where the homeowners used to live in Huntsville, Alabama.
