Situated at the edge of the property in the lower yard, the small Greek temple offers an impressive view of the open lower yard (ideal for tent events and cocktail parties), the enclosed courtyard and the upper pavilion which is obscured here by the temple’s dome.
The roof is extended off the doors to the pool area to create shaded patios around the pool. A pair of lounge chairs with bright blue cushions bring a pop of color to the space and have the perfect view for relaxing outdoors. Pavers are used to create a geometric surround around the pool, while grass in between softens the hardscaping.
The main focus of the design was the infinity pool. It was positioned so the infinity edge faces the largest view of the lake. The designer created a large, lounging patio for big parties as well as a lower patio for drinks and cigars. The unique water feature with plants breaks up and softens the extensive hardscaping.
The new courtyard is now the perfect space for outdoor dining and entertaining with its surrounding ambience of colorful potted plants, a visually intriguing stone wall (now covered in fig vines) and an unique water feature in the planter under the open arch.
Viewing the edge of the pool and the rose garden from the rear of the owner’s home, you get a better perspective on this side garden and its amenities which provide unlimited opportunities for hosted gatherings and events.

A step by step guide from Landscape Studio demonstrates how hardscaping and landscaping can transform your property into the ideal outdoor space.
