The upstairs hall is extravagant with a pair of chandeliers lighting up rich brown walls. This is a room in the 2013 Atlanta Decorators Show House, a showcase of more than 30 spaces transformed by designers from around the Southeast.
The villa is actually divided into three floors, with a heated indoor pool and atriums on the ground level. The first level, seen here, boasts a grand hall with centuries-old ceilings, terra cotta floors and antique furniture.
The flooring in this hallway is created from noche travertine stone tiles laid in a staggered brick pattern. Although they're originally intended for outdoor use, the designer liked the casual character the material brought to this interior space.
