The water inspired Sarah Richardson, host of HGTV's Sarah's Summer House, to decorate this guest bedroom with cool blues and greens. A striped vintage rag rug complements bold green-and-white sheets that counterbalance the feminine blue decorative pillows. The curves in the headboard and fabric represent waves in the water, adding to the coastal feel of the room.
"Smartly, the headboard allows the men's team to orient the bed to the view of the city versus back to the living room as the women and Dan have done," said Vern Yip, judge on HGTV's Design Star. The unique headboard is a shelving structure of open cubbies, perfect for displaying decor. The green striped bed cover adds color to the white shelves, walls and sheets. The shelving unit acts as a room divider, but the see-through element creates a spacious feel.
