A stunning Etch pendant light by Tom Dixon sets off the beautifully simple and sleek geometric design of this modern eat-in kitchen. The abundant use of white, from the frosted dining table to the long kitchen island, is interrupted by the use of wenge wood and green accents of the table settings. The island is designed as one long block with two sinks.
Wood reclaimed from a barn in Texas' Hill Country lines the ceiling of this butler's pantry, providing the newly constructed space with a sense of history. Matching scraps of wood are laid in a herringbone pattern below the counter to tie in with the ceiling, and the rustic wood is contrasted nicely with an elegant pendant light, mint-green cabinets with glass fronts and a marble countertop.
The entryway of this home was designed to introduce guests to the color and texture they will find on the home's interior. From the stone exterior wall to the bright green plants that line the walkway to the copper colored front door and modern pendant lights to illuminate the home's entrance, color and texture create an inviting experience for guests and homeowners alike.
It's difficult to believe that this was once a living room, but it was. Then designers answered the homeowners' wishes for a larger kitchen and switched up the spaces. Now, tall windows look out onto a marsh and wide walkways make the room easy to work and play in. The designers wanted the wow factor in the foyer of this home, so they added an art piece in the ceiling to draw the eye upward and add texture and dimension. Suspended from the ceiling are white pendant lights that give the space a little bit of modern flair, while a green velvet bench resting beneath a unique wood framed mirror makes the space pop. To give some boundaries to the space, designers added a woven rug.
These homeowners were very interested in bringing their love for the natural beauty of the outdoors inside and mixing it with the modern design style they already love. This photo shows that they succeeded. The large window overlooking the sink brings in plenty of natural light, allowing nature into the space. The live edge wood shelving shows the raw beauty of nature, while the colors on the wall and the backsplash are earthy shades of green, yellow and gray. These natural elements blend perfectly with the clean lines of the countertop and the modern pendant light, bringing the couple's ideas of an eco modern design to life.
