In this home, designer Debbie Talianko selected contemporary pieces to work with more traditional furnishings and varied nautical accents. Coastal art inspired the accent colors around the room. The green glass lamp makes an appropriate statement adjacent to the white sectional sofa.
Blenko glass amber and green jars rest on a side table in the family room, their hues reflected in the botanical-print draperies from Boussac. The lamp is made from a vintage zinc architectural fragment found in Paris.
The green paisley wallpaper in this bathroom sets the color scheme for the room. Two small lamp fixtures surround the oval mirror topped with green cloth, plaid lamp shapes to shed light on the glass tile stripe, mirror boxes and green towels sitting on the white tile sink below.
Sea green walls create a soft frame in the natural light of this staircase hallway. A warm yellow lampshade over the table lamp draws out the yellow coloring of the stain glass trim surrounding the windows. A wood table fills the space and provides support for a simple display to decorate the area.
Hardwood flooring leads up to the wood staircase where the direction of the wood grain changes guiding the movement through the foyer space. A soft sea green wall color above the lower wall white paneling adds subtle color to the design. A rich wood piano is complimented with a stained glass lamp creating an inviting look.
This transitional bedroom features purple, blue and green accents that give the room a calming vibe. A plush blue end table adds a pop of bright color, while white end tables with green glass lamps finish the look of the space.
Floral art by Erin Gregory was the inspiration for the palette in the family room. The two blue chairs were painted a custom aqua and covered in a durable Sunbrella fabric, and the draperies at the arched window are color blocked with blue and cream. A leather ottoman, green glass lamps, sofas and shearling benches add to the comfortable feel in the room designed by Kandrac & Kole.
An assortment of seashells, sea glass and coral decorates the top of the white dresser. A grasscloth finish on the dresser complements the coastal theme of the accessories. A mirror with a herringbone pattern of inlaid bone reflects the light from a seafoam green lamp with a linen shade, creating soft lighting and tying the decor together.
A marble-top kitchen island sits in a beautiful, spacious mint green kitchen. Gas lamps and a glass display case add a traditional feel while stainless steel appliances give the space a more contemporary feel.
A vibrant painting filled with loops and swirls inspires the color palette for this home office. An orange base is used for the desk, and an airy, green blown-glass lamp echoes the whimsy of the artwork.
This living room starts with basic beige walls, then layers in lots of visual interest via bright, white moldings and patterned curtains in blue and green. Accessories bring the colors out into the room: blue furry pillows, green glass table lamps.
“Our client had the fantastic idea to use rolling tool cabinets in her kitchen,” says architect Nick Pancheau. “We designed a simple kitchen island combining seating and storage in a single movable piece. We selected a lime-green finish to match the fritted glass lamp shades made by the client; a subtle dark-green soapstone countertop rests atop the cabinets.”
