In this second-home Chicago high-rise pied-à-terre, rough wooden side tables and a rustic dining table paired with brilliant red faux-leather chairs create an inspired look in this combined living and dining room. The giraffe-print stools in the breakfast bar are custom designed, inspired by the homeowners’ love of their home state of Texas, animals and travels to Africa.
This bedroom is small, so in order to fit beds for two boys, Little Crown Interiors chose a modern bunk bed. This decision allowed open floor space for playing and plenty of wall space for whimsical decor. The challenge proved finding a wall feature that was the right size for the room, which has high ceilings. Custom giraffe decals were the perfect solution – expertly filling the wall space in a fun, kid-friendly manner.
To give this Midcentury Modern living room personality and depth, designers added funky pattern, unique accents and cool textures to the space. A leopard print chair and blue patterned couch soften the space, making it feel intimate, while the modern furnishings, such as the end table and lamp, continue the modern design. Along the back wall, stone has been carried halfway up the wall. This stone conceals the television and also serves as a display for some of the modern art in the space, while the large giraffe statue draws the eye to this part of the space.
