A traditional white front door leads into a spacious and elegant foyer. Thin windows in the door and a transom window above allows in a lot of natural light, while dark hardwood floors ground the space. A large round mirror helps to bounce light around the room, and a cool geometric-style light fixture adds a contemporary touch.
To achieve a clean, sophisticated look, this dining room features a coordinating dining table and sideboard. The light fixture is actually three individual pendent lights grouped together to create a new chandelier that makes a stunning statement.
Light blue cabinets combine with white countertops for a soothing, chic kitchen design. Geometric pendant lights add a contemporary nod, while gold is use for the fixtures and hardware throughout the space for a touch of glam.
Traditional meets midcentury modern in this chic dining room. A classic wood dining table anchors the space, and the chairs that surround it boast a fun, geometric-patterned upholstery. A floating green cabinet and mod light fixtures complete the look.
The cozy master bedroom in this Lake Tahoe ski getaway features a mix of modern, traditional and even tribal elements, like the graphic rug beneath two curvaceous armchairs. A geometric headboard is tall, providing graphic interest on a white wall. A modern halo light fixture doesn't interfere with the gorgeous mountain view outside the wall of windows.
In this dining area, the wood-and-metal, 10-foot table comfortably seats eight. Underneath the table, a hair-on-hide rug is a geometric zip of color and pattern. The bathrooms in designer Megan Pflug’s lodge are cheery and bright. Where rustic comfort is the order of the day for most spaces here, the bathrooms skew a bit more towards the modern than the rest of the accommodations. Brightly colored fixtures and modern lighting are accompanied by textiles adorned in geometric prints for a pleasing note of contrast that doesn’t feel at odds with the rest of the decor.
My client had the structural aspects of this kitchen down, the marble, the cabinetry and the bar stools but knew she needed the finishing touches to pull it all together as this is a space that they entertain in a lot and spend time with their family every day. The island light fixture was the first thing to find as we knew it would be the showstopper and main focal point of the space. We chose a piece that is both rich and contrasting to all of the white to add warmth to the space but that also has some bling to it! The rest of the softness was added through a greige paint color, geometric fabric for the roman shades and the accessories. Now it is a space that they use everyday and love!
