The transformed master bathroom as seen at the home of Pernelle Hayes and Shaun Hammond, which was renovated by Team Drew, on season 1 of HGTV's Brother vs. Brother. The team installed a floating vanity, as well as a new lighting bar over the vanity.
A white faux fur rug complements with the light turquoise color of the walls in this contemporary sitting room. A double layer contemporary chandelier hangs above two stackable glass coffee tables. White chairs provide seating accented with turquoise and neutral zebra print pillows.
Since this home was built with the purpose to sell, the owners wanted to keep rooms versatile. While this room is set up as a study, it could easily be transformed into a bedroom, media room or anything else.
This chic sitting area features a neutral upholstered armchair with a taupe ruffled pillow and soft ivory throw. A natural tree branch floor lamp sits to the right of the armchair, while an ivory drum end table sits atop a white faux fur rug.
For a project that called for a sleek luxurious look — on a tight budget — designer Shirley Meisels shopped carefully. “You can create a great look without going custom,” says the designer, who turned to major retailers and online sources, choosing a bed, table, and linens from West Elm, a rug from Dwell Studio, and a lamp from Restoration Hardware. Of course, designer know-how is what pulls it all together: “To create warmth in such a spare and simple setting it’s important to add texture. That’s where the fur rug and fur cushion come into play.”
This room started as a dark room with heavy furniture that failed to accentuate the rooms greatest features, like the vaulted T&G ceiling. The room was brightened up with a light blue paint, added hardwood floors and a chandelier that would draw one’s eye to the beautiful, original ceiling.
An open, urban loft features exposed brick and hardwood floors, creating an industrial style space. Two white faux fur area rugs are used to separate the sleeping and sitting spaces in this eclectic master bedroom.
Eclectic and funky little girls room with a blush pink base. The soft color palette is anchored with the charcoal accents and dots of bright pink. A window seat with comfy toss pillows in fun textures creates a cozy reading nook. A lofted wood daybed lined with pink velvet cushions is perfect for lounging and sleeping. An antique mirror over sits over the wooden dresser, on which sits vases of brightly colored fresh flowers. A play tent in charcoal gray with white dots atop a small white faux fur rug provides a special place to hide away or share secrets with friends. An area rug in blush pink with a charcoal gray and white pattern picks up the colors from elsewhere in the room and complements the wooden furniture.
The marble bathtub compliments the smooth marble floor tile. A decorative side panel on the exterior of the tub pairs with a feminine valance to add pattern and color to the design. A tufted ottoman serves as seating and open storage over a fluffy faux fur rug.
Beige accordion curtains cover the walls of this bedroom for total control of natural light. A white fur rug gives a natural and fluffy contrast to the beautiful, structured upholstered bed frame. A patterned burgundy throw pillow acts as the single color accent to pop against the neutral color palette.
Wallpapered cubbies within the shower match the wallpaper in the bathroom. The shower floor compliments the neutral tones of the surrounding room while the white tile walls and in-shower bench create a bright look within. A faux fur mat adds soft texture to heighten the comfort of the design.
This black home office was originally an enclosed porch with no electricity or air conditioning. Picture frame molding was added to the walls, and pocket doors replaced the previous room's swinging doors. A fun pendant fixture from Terrain throws interesting patterns on the wall at night.
