Then, they added a large range with a covered range hood to stylishly accommodate the amount of cooking done by the homeowners. These features, along with the space's neutral color palette and abundance of counter space, make this kitchen an elegant, functional space perfect for two chefs.

These homeowners wanted a more functional, stylish kitchen with plenty of safety failsafes before the arrival of their baby, so designers created a kitchen with an intuitive design. One of the things these homeowners wanted for the design of their new home was a fun, functional place for their family to spend time bonding-particularly over food. So, in the kitchen, designers kept the concept simple, open and functional. Designers made sure that the homeowners had tons of counter space for easy prep and serving, as well as plenty of cabinets for storage and a large sink, making for easy cleanup.

As part of the Parker home transformation in Atlanta, GA, licensed contractor Chip Wade took out a number of walls in the kitchen and living room to make an open air living area. The formal dining area is now adjacent to the great room and part of the open flow of the space. The transformation included a large kitchen island with ample storage and cooking area along with a work station that mechanically lifts for the kids to do their homework. The living area also includes a multi-use ottoman for everyone in the family-including the dog. This creates a central area for the kids to work and spend time with their parents, as seen on DIY Network's Elbow Room.

The concept for this kitchen was function with LOTS of storage. By creating floor to ceiling cabinets the storage was maximized. One of the ways to have easy access to elements inside the cabinets was to create full panel drawers inside the island. The white quartz island is a continuation of the white canvas used for the floor and a vanilla onyx with back lighting to accent on the island. The stainless steel flush appliances give the space a sophisticated look.
Designers wanted to create a bright, open space for the homeowners, but the second wall in the kitchen was load bearing, so instead of taking it out, they maximized the kitchen's functional space by adding shelves for storage and display space and lower cabinets for counter space. To keep the space bright, under cabinet lighting was added, as well as a row of pendant lights running down the middle of the space.
