The top floor of a Brooklyn townhouse was opened up so all the rooms flowed into one another and created a huge floor for the kids. This ultra chic nursery features a graphic accent wall in neutral tones, a deep purple rocking chair with fringe and a white, modern dresser. The unique, floral light fixture adds a perfect touch of whimsy to the space.
The vision for this space was to make it as magical as possible and to feel like you've entered an angelic, beautiful space that overcame your senses with a calming, happy feeling. Pink velvet tufted cribs and blue damask crib canopies trimmed with a combination of blue fringe and pearl strands create a stylish and dramatic look. French-inspired furnishings from AFK are hand painted with metallic accents and add a beautiful touch.
A Chicago high-rise bedroom evokes a well-balanced yet cozy atmosphere. The space contains a touch of the homeowners' beloved Texas in the form of a fabric reminiscent of animal hide on an ottoman, along with a feeling of modern, bold Chicago with bright-red accent colors and a black leather, tufted headboard. Draperies are custom-designed with red fringe borders, and a hint of elegance is imbued nearby with two shimmering, mirrored nightstands.

Colletti says growing moss in a terrarium can be a challenge, because there's a lot of moisture and little air circulation. She prefers open-topped containers. Climacium americanum (commonly called lobe-leaved tree moss) and Hedwigia ciliata (fringed hoar-moss) work well in any kind of container, she says. Leucobryum glaucum (pincushion moss) and Cladonia rangiferina (reindeer moss, actually a lichen) are best used in open containers. In this image, sheet moss surrounds other small plants.
Ginnie Leeming of Hello Little Home found creative, money-saving ways to create her layered neutral decor. That tablecloth? An inexpensive drop cloth cut to fit her table. Those texture-rich placemats? “The placemats were created from a large piece of burlap that was intended for gardening. I cut out rectangles, then pulled strands of burlap off the edges to form a simple fringe,” Leeming says. A golden-wrapped box topped with a buffalo-plaid ribbon adds a bright pop at each place setting.
Colorful and bright are the first words that come to mind when you think of a child's birthday party. Kara Allen of Kara's Party Ideas chose red and aqua for the two main accent colors and combined them with all the colors of the rainbow. She printed patterned paper and sewed crepe paper as fringe for the party hats, and she embellished the miniature gumball machines by tying polka-dot ribbons around them. The vanilla-frosted cupcakes are topped with red gumballs that resemble cherries, and many of the sweets, including the gumball machine cookies by batches and the polka-dot Oreo cookies by Sweeties by Kim, were online purchases.
