Acorns are a popular material used in Fall decorating. Put an artistic spin on acorns by using them to cover a foam cone. Attach each acorn with hot glue and fill the spaces between them with dark peat moss.
Decorative gift wrap supplies such as beaded string and/or ribbon can make for excellent crafting material. Give a sparkly update to cone shaped floral foam by covering its exterior with beaded string. First, update the cone with acrylic paint in the same color as the beaded string. Next, wrap the entire cone with the string, keeping it held in place with hot glue.
To create the curled paper buds, cut the card stock or construction paper into 4-inch-by-4-inch squares, then fold the squares into a cone shape. Next, secure the cone-shaped paper to the wreath form with hot glue, ensuring each one is placed directly up against the other until the foam is completely concealed.
Try a new twist on traditional holiday topiaries by covering cone-shaped foam forms with found or purchased shells (check your local craft store) in assorted colors and sizes. Attach them with hot glue, starting at the bottom and working your way up.
