This family room's range in heights starts with a pair of wreaths flanking the fireplace, then moves down to the mantel decor and a few red accessories added to the built-ins and coffee table. Throw pillows, a vintage tricycle and floor cushions complete the look.
Designers wanted this spacious, Midcentury Modern living room to fell intimate despite its large floor plan, so they carefully chose textures and fabrics that would add personality, but wouldn't overwhelm the beautiful exterior views showcased by the expansive windows. Walls are painted white to reflect the views of the outdoors, while the color is added through a few pieces of modern art and colorful, patterned throw pillows on the modern sofas.
Designer Kari McIntosh Dawdy added two small barrel armchairs in turquoise blue velvet to accompany this shades of blue family room. They blend with, yet provide visual contrast against the medium blue walls for an unexpected yet entirely appealing design. This multi-purpose "do room" in HGTV Green Home 2011 includes a casual-chic seating area with two slipper chairs, upholstered in classic houndstooth print. They sit atop a carpet-square rug and a Grecian key fabric throw pillows rests on each chair. A natural wood lamp with iron stud accents and linen shade provides additional light on overcast days. A barn door, constructed of beetle-kill pine wood, separates the room from the first floor.

Resting just above the kitchen, this loft style master bedroom designed by Tennessee-based Incredible Tiny Homes references the exterior’s aesthetic with its evergreen details such as the tree branch railing, natural wood floors, and the continuation of the reclaimed wood beams. The botanicals and muted amethyst pillows provide accents of color; making the space cozy and conducive to peaceful slumber.
Beyond the neutral Persian rug and gray sofas, elements have been brought in to add a wash of color to the space. To highlight the home's high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling drapery in aubergine adds an unexpected infusion of color. Pastel shades of pink and blue are brought home with a gallery wall of fashion illustrations by artist Leigh Viner. Pillows from the couple's collection bring in a does of color and pattern.

Twenty six floors above the Las Vegas strip, these homeowners were interested in a space that is relaxing and rejuvenating after a long day, so designers incorporated elements of Zen and relaxation to give the couple a spa feel to their master suite. Color rich textiles and multifaceted textures cover every surface in this master retreat. Heavy weight window coverings help to keep out light and noise. The tēte-á-tēte sofa is covered in high style jade iridescent fabric and is accented with silk and velvet throw pillows. A globally sourced custom mural originating from Thailand was made into a headboard, while metallic grass cloth wallpaper accents the space.
The new living room at the Pasquella home is filled with color and life. The walls that separated the kitchen from the dining room and living room are gone. The old carpet is replaced by wood floors. A new couch by CB2, and a new rug by Genevieve Gorder fill the center of the room that once had no furniture at all.
