This sunken patio is surrounded by gray concrete walls and lush vertical landscaping, creating a private, intimate atmosphere. Sleek, contemporary sofas make a cozy seating area in front of a stainless steel floating fireplace.
One of the primary design goals of this gorgeous master bedroom retreat was to seamlessly blend indoors and out. Large sliding glass doors can be moved back in good weather, making the walls disappear. And the concrete flooring is the same in the interior and exterior spaces to further unify the two.
Nature takes a front seat in this living room. The pairing of floating wooden shelves next to the white trimmed fireplace and cream walls creates a beautiful palette in which plants and flowers can thrive. The floral rug and wicker chair add to the sunny disposition of the room. Design by John Gidding
This long modern fireplace is framed with a white surround lightening the look as it blends with the rest of the room. A simple floating mantel separates the mounted flatscreen TV. Natural wood floating shelves on either side of the fireplace set up add color with personal decor.
Every corner of this backyard feels akin to a modern art museum, with sculptures and floating installations in abundance. This limestone lounge area is no different, with a soaring fireplace, large fire spheres and architectural umbrellas purchased through FDG FURNISH.
The grand living room (over 1500 square feet!) provides panoramic skyline views via over 65 feet of floor-to-ceiling windows and contains two sitting areas, a free-floating fireplace, bar and drop-down movie screen.
The fireplace screen captures a natural, modern aesthetic and mimics the look of branches, coordinating with the wood slab coffee table. Hardwood fireplace surround, a floating mantel and a matching wooden armchair complete the design.
A pair of low consoles with doors are positioned on either side of a stone fireplace, which has a vase, potted plant, and two framed paintings on a floating mantel. On one console is a television; on the other console is a mirror, table lamp and statue.
Suspending a 6' wide, 1,200-pound marble fireplace proved a gravity-defying engineering challenge. The tons of behind-the-scene steel and framing allow the fireplace to effortlessly float as the home's centerpiece.
