Have fun mixing and matching every day decor with your holiday items for a seamless look. Choose items that reflect your current decorating scheme. A holiday stocking trimmed in gold will complement an existing table or bar cart. Add unconventional pieces like a modern peacock feather wreath for a new take on traditional Christmas decorations. The textured gray walls in this modern living room mix well with the gray shag carpet separated by a long, short white shelf. The coffee table is gray stone with a diamond pattern on top. A solid purple chair and bright blue feathered wreath provide a strong pop of color against the gray.
For the front porch of her new Rhode Island home, blogger Alison Vinciguerra of the blog Long Distance Loving used a wreath from The Home Depot that was pre-decorated with pinecones, holly leaves, gold feathers and fruit. She wove in white LED twinkle lights into the wreath and garland near a vintage-looking lantern.
