Reworking an outdated space, such as this kitchen, can be challenging in an older home but not impossible. This pre-Civil War stone barn was moved to its final resting place, stone by stone, from its original location. The designer added contemporary elements such as a marble-topped kitchen island and modern appliances to create a fully functional cooking and dining space.
