The entry of Chris' condo is a mash-up of classic menswear and midcentury modern styles. A black, silver and gold pinstripe wallpaper from Graham & Brown covers the walls while a brass helix-style chandelier purchased for $200 from a flea market lights the space.
The home's entry doubles as a floor-to-ceiling art gallery packed with one-of-kind creations appealing to adults and kids. To keep purses and backpacks in one spot, wall hooks were installed among the featured art. A foyer table in matching blue provides an excellent surface for displaying family photos, intimate lighting, and accessories.
As seen on Fixer Upper, Chip and Joanna opened up the entry hall and added a functional custom bench with handy storage compartments. The bench was designed by carpenter and furniture artisan Clint Harp.
A stone dust entry drive leads into this narrow, waterfront lot.
The combination of an extremely narrow lot and a large amount of grade change made this a challenging lot to redevelop. The board form concrete retaining wall creates an architectural way to deal with the grade and to make the site inviting.
