The homeowners wanted a light, airy, comfortable entertaining space, so designers created an elegant, rustic cabana. Inside the space, designers used soft, flowing fabrics to create the airy feel, while contrasting natural elements such as stone and wood bring warmth to the space.
In the backyard, designers created a space that is perfect for outdoor entertaining. The pool area features a swimming pool and hot tub with an elegant water feature, while the lounge area hosts a freestanding fireplace as well as a set of outdoor chairs and a coffee table.
Narrow modular pavers lead from the beautiful, mid-century modern home to the outdoor oasis, with gravel fire pit, lush landscaping, and poured-in-place concrete dining table perfect for al fresco dining.
On the other side of the pool, various seating options and a stone fireplace create different zones for entertaining. After a quick dip in the water, guests can kick back on the lounge chairs or enjoy a drink by the fire.
Stone steps lead guests into the rest of the yard, which includes a more formal sitting area, stone fireplace, dining table and swimming pool nearby. A large white pergola offers a touch of shade during the day.
A stunning outdoor space is a must for a vacation home in the mountains. Where a sitting area and dining table create plenty of room for guests, space heaters and a stone fireplace keep the setting warm.
An oversized area rug visually elongates the dining room, as well as balances out the dark wood of the cabinets. Meanwhile, a table with eight chairs anchors the space and provides plenty of elbow room for guess.
As seen on HGTV and DIY Network's Elbow Room, the Jackson residence in Atlanta, GA is now fully equipped for outdoor entertaining and play area for the kids after the backyard renovation by licensed contractor Chip Wade and his team. Renovations included a new outdoor entertaining/grill area, a trampoline, fire pit and seating area for guests, landscaping, and tumble mat for their three daughters.
Just off the pool area, a set of stairs leads up to the pool house. Underneath the pool house is a sitting area with modern furniture that gives the homeowners a great space to entertain with the perfect view of the pool.
While the design of this traditional cabana ties into the existing house, certain details lend it a more casual style. Columns that match the home's architecture give structure to the front of the cabana while contributing to its open feel. Meanwhile, lattice-work joining the columns is reminiscent of beach house design, as is the vaulted ceiling finished with white beadboard and exposed beams.
Previously, the owners of this elegant home had a 4,000 square foot house with four bedrooms with two separate single car garages. However, when they bought the lot adjacent to their home, they wanted to expand with a complementary space that included a new, two car garage, an indoor/outdoor cabana with full kitchen and bar, a mother-in-law suite, an elevator, a wine room, an exterior fireplace, a large patio and a unique pool.
