Located off of the master gallery, the dressing room is situated between the master closet and bathroom. "As you walk down the hall and peek in, the dressing room references the fantasy that we all have about spaces we'd like to have in our house," explains interior designer Linda Woodrum.
Think of dedicating a space in your bedroom or bathroom to getting ready. Nothing makes a night out special like a place reserved for a beautifully curated grouping of grooming essentials. The dressing table is a classic idea we'd love to see brought back.
For the lady of the home, designers created a dressing room. The ceiling in the space is outfitted with the custom, cherry millwork that runs throughout the rest of the home, while a chandelier hangs elegantly in the center. A wall full of drawers and cabinets give the owner plenty of space for her clothes, while an adjacent wall has shelves to house her shoes. To make the space even more elegant, designers brought in a cozy leather couch, a pair of fuzzy ottomans and a soft, plush rug. Finally, a piece of Prada artwork ties the space together.
What was once a bedroom in a Charleston style home is now a chic, teal dressing room/closet, thanks to Nicole Norris, ASID, NCIDQ. A cheery turquoise color was chosen for the built-ins and balanced with a luxurious leopard print carpet. Other glamorous touches include a gorgeous crystal and hemp chandelier, sparkling drawer hardware, an upholstered fabric wall behind the glass shoe shelves and a custom-made full-length mirror.
Beyond the bed, a dressing area has been carved out. An oversized mirror becomes a place to check out an outfit before leaving in the morning. It’s also home to accessories from travels that look beautiful on display.
This closet and dressing room is a study in eclectic style, as black and white graphic wallpaper, red ceiling, contemporary window shade, Art Deco light fixture, and modern built-in storage system meet to present an offbeat but charming design. This space is truly every girl's dream!

This generously sized closet features high hanging clothes racks that smoothly descend down within reach via convenient pulls. Inspired by the idea of a well-traveled woman, this dressing room pairs a glamorous Victorian-style bench with two Chinese ceramic vases. The result is an elegant yet eclectic seat on which to lounge before getting ready for a night on the town. Two floor-to-ceiling armoires ensure that the lady of the house has many outfits to choose from.
