To give the HGTV Dream Home 2015 dining table a cozier look, a plush bench sits in for traditional wooden chairs. “We did a banquette that’s upholstered, which could accommodate three children and even three adults,” says interior designer Linda Woodrum.
To showcase the collection of teacups the family has accumulated, the back of the bench has been fashioned as a cabinet. These cabinets close securely in keep the family's two pets from accidentally decommissioning any of the pieces.
The dining room branches out with benches that can be used around the table or as standalone seating in the sitting room. Whimsical wallpaper adds a bold layer of color to the space and helps tie the two areas together.

The word art on the wall is perfect for a kitchen, creating a double meaning, while the modern light fixture finishes off the space.
Vanessa DeLeon designed this relatively dark dining room to receive some natural light from the large living room windows, filtered through a thin gold curtain. Other notable features include a rock table and bench combination.
One of the challenges in this roof deck makeover was working with the narrow space. Designers opted for a built-in bench on one side of the dining table, instead of chairs which need more room to pull out.
