When their clients traded their boat for a beach retreat, Red House Custom and designer Kim Peterson of KEP Designs worked to give the new-old home’s interiors a soothing “watery” look. Upholstered in the palest shade of blue, the twin sofas appear to float against the white walls; accents in cream, gray, and turquoise complete the seaside scene.
When conceptualizing the look and feel of the black and white master bathroom, elements of menswear were a major request. To add a tailored, clean and classic look associated with men's fashion, a custom Roman shade was made from black and white linen featuring a houndstooth pattern.

A custom cocktail table and side table were designed for this home and a commissioned painting in pastel colors was hung next to the French doors. The clients, 10-year-old twins, helped designer Alisha Gwen create the fun shape of this custom, blue velvet-clad headboard. In the space, the girls’ favorite hues of blue and purple inspired the palette. Layered patterns and fun furnishings mix to form a tranquil bedroom with equal parts whimsy, function and style.
This custom banquette seating provides a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast or sit with the family. Natural light illuminates the worn wood of the table and chairs, while a vintage floral shade hangs overhead when privacy is preferred.
This backyard deck features a large pergola and plenty of seating. An outdoor sectional, complete with plump yellow cushions, invites guests to linger in the shade of the rustic hardscape. The rooftop design features tropical hardwood decking, reclaimed timber, glass panels, louvered slat screening, custom fire pit, sectional and lounge chair.
To create a tailored look in a simple, monochromatic kitchen, designer Teri Thomas chose a valance and Roman shade in the same fabric. She used a custom-printed fabric from Galbraith and Paul for both the shade and its box-pleated topper, says contractor Duane Johns of Advanced Renovations.
