A small, custom round island provides a handy space for prepping meals, without taking up a large footprint in their U-shaped kitchen. A mantel above the stove offers a place to rotate in artwork for display.
This kitchen by Rebecca Zajac was once builder beige with an odd, half-rounded drywall island. Zajac updated the doors on the existing cabinets and kept the original plumbing and base cabinets for the sink and dishwasher. Custom cabinets were built out to create the new island, and a custom-designed backsplash gives the space an organic feel by breaking up the repeating pattern. Crate & Barrel stools provide seating at the new island.
A white modern farmhouse kitchen by Atlanta-based Reiner White has a steel vent hood, porcelain tile backsplash in a key lock pattern and stainless steel appliances. The two islands have quartz waterfall countertops, modern counter stools and round pendants. The custom tables are extendable.
Tall, custom, built-in cabinets create major impact in this contemporary kitchen. With both glass and wood-front doors, there's a choice to display items or tuck them away. The unique kitchen island features a butcher block top and small, round prep sink.
The kitchen’s inviting breakfast area in front of the center island features a large 72-inch wide wood dining table with unexpected seating options. A custom church pew, round ottomans that are easy to move around and Parson style dining chairs upholstered in a woven black plaid fabric give everyone a seat at the table.
The homeowners wanted an all white kitchen that is stylish and functional for their family. To achieve this goal, designers added a bit of texture with custom cabinetry, and a splash of glimmer with a metallic and white, penny round tile backsplash. For function, plenty of storage was added with ceiling height cabinets, dual kitchen islands and plenty of counter space. These elements blend together to give the homeowners the kitchen of their dreams.
